Biography
Alex is currently a PhD student in the Energy Bioengineering group under the supervision of Dr. Marc Strous and Dr. Hector de la Hoz Siegler. He received a B.Sc. in Biology at the University of Toronto Mississauga, and a M.Sc. in Cell and Systems Biology at the University of Toronto. His PhD research focuses on the reuse and recycling of waste products from the cultivation and anaerobic digestion of algal biomass as a valuable source of nutrients to enhance the growth of the next generation of biomass.
