鈥淎fter finishing my third year I was feeling unexcited about learning and just wanted to graduate as fast as I could. Being able to do field research as an undergraduate student got me excited about learning again because I was able to see what the possibilities are after I graduate,鈥 says Emma Banner, law and society major, Faculty of Arts and participant in the 2019 Development Studies in Ghana Group Study Program.  鈥淚 was able to discover a passion of certain issues in the world and am excited for what the future holds for me as a result of this field school.鈥

Every year more than 1,200 草莓污视频导航 students internationalize their degrees through exchanges, group study programs, research or internships. Students can choose to spend a semester, summer or year abroad on one of more than 150 programs worldwide while earning credit toward their major, minor or options. Study abroad opportunities are available in all academic disciplines and allow students to access courses sometimes not offered at the 草莓污视频导航.

This annual event is an opportunity to talk with international partner universities, and students who have participated in study abroad programs and hear about their experiences.

鈥淥ne of the amazing advantages of studying abroad is the opportunity to take courses not available on the 草莓污视频导航 campus. It鈥檚 a great way to add value to your degree. There is also close to $500,000 in 草莓污视频导航 funding available to support students participating in study abroad programs, not to mention a variety of external awards,鈥 says Colleen Packer, director, international learning programs.

For many students, studying abroad is the highlight of their university degree. The friends they make and experiences they have are life-changing. In an increasingly global economy, developing cross-cultural skills is becoming essential in any career, and are skills employers look for.
