Dr. Catherine Laing receives Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses Writing Award

Her manuscript Stories That Heal: Understanding the Effects of Creating Digital Stories With Pediatric and Adolescent/Young Adult Oncology Patients was published in the Journal of Pediatric Oncology Nursing

Congratulations to Dr. Catherine Laing, associate dean (undergraduate programs) who will receive the Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses Writing Award for 2018.

This award is given each year to recognize contributing authors to the Journal of Pediatric Oncology Nursing (JOPON) who are first authors of a manuscript accepted for publication in the journal in the last year and who have had three or more manuscripts published previously. The editorial board selected Laing’s manuscript Stories That Heal: Understanding the Effects of Creating Digital Stories With Pediatric and Adolescent/Young Adult Oncology Patients which was published in the July/August 2017 issue of JOPON.

The paper was written with Nancy Moules, Andrew Estefan and Laing’s PhD student Mike Lang.

The award will be presented in September in Savannah, Georgia.
