Bring your friends and family to celebrate the release of the university’s new Strategic Plan Sept. 16

The ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ is thrilled to announce the release of our Strategic Plan, , a road map that outlines our goals and how we aim to achieve them.

And we’re celebrating with a huge community event Sept. 16 at the in northeast Calgary.

This event marks the culmination of extensive planning, analysis and community input. The plan, approved by the Board of Governors on June 23 and enacted on July 1, is a testament to our commitment to fostering a prosperous, compassionate, sustainable and equitable world.

"Ahead of Tomorrow represents our vision for the future and emphasizes our commitment to creating real opportunities that spread beyond our campus boundaries," says ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ President Ed McCauley. "We're excited to share this vision with our community and invite everyone to join us for a fun all-ages event."

²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ is hosting the event at the Genesis Centre, 7555 Falconridge Blvd., N.E., a community hub known for its commitment to shared celebration, learning and play. This venue reflects our focus on community engagement, a cornerstone of our Strategic Plan.

"We believe that our university and the larger community in Calgary are partners in progress," says Dr. Penny Werthner, interim provost and vice-president (academic). "This event is our opportunity to celebrate our community partnerships and our shared future."

The day will begin with a community gathering featuring ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ alumni-run businesses, food trucks, live music, activities, giveaways and fun photo opportunities. The first 500 guests will also receive tickets to upcoming Dinos volleyball and basketball games.

"We're creating an environment that reflects the vibrant spirit of ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½," says Werthner. "This is a chance for our community to come together, to celebrate our achievements and to look ahead of tomorrow."

Guests will get a first look at the university’s goals for providing support to future students who are the first in their families to attend post-secondary. This community event not only reflects our commitment to entrepreneurial thinking and economic value creation, but also marks a significant milestone in .
