International student found a surprising way to practise her language skills
Laura Rios, master's student and 3MT winner, shared her experience as a ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ student at Community Report 2019

Laura Rios is originally from Barrancabermeja, Colombia, a small city known for being very hot and home to the largest oil refinery in the country. She moved to Calgary in September of 2018 to pursue her master’s degree of science in chemical engineering at the ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½. Rios' work in modifications of asphalt with reactive polymers earned her the title of ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½â€™s Three Minute Thesis winner earlier this year.
