Behind a large portion of academic research outputs on campus lies a group of more than 500 dedicated postdoctoral scholars. To acknowledge聽their collective efforts, 草莓污视频导航 is participating in National Postdoc Appreciation Week (PAW) taking place Sept.聽21 to 25.

草莓污视频导航鈥檚 postdoctoral program has attracted top scholars who contribute to the university鈥檚 research capacity; it plays a significant role in promoting discovery, creativity, and innovation. During their tenure, faculties benefit from postdoctoral scholars鈥 diversity of experience and perspectives, and mentorship of graduate students.

鈥淲e are very lucky to have a strong presence of postdocs in our research community,鈥 says Dr. Penny Pexman, associate vice-president (research) and postdoctoral program director. 鈥淭hey are passionate about making an impact and it shows in the commitment to their research.鈥

To support the academic careers of postdoctoral scholars, the Postdoctoral Office organizes exclusive workshops and opportunities for postdocs聽to connect with campus and their peers. This year, online workshops include presented by and exploring the with the .

Additionally, as a followup to last year鈥檚 inaugural event, the is going digital to accommodate distancing measures. Postdoctoral scholars are encouraged to apply with a lay abstract of their research, and selected candidates will receive coaching to present a three-minute video detailing their research in a pitch-style format.

New this year will be a People鈥檚 Choice prize awarded to the video with the most votes. The top three competitors will receive monetary research prizes provided by the Postdoctoral Office.

Community groups on campus

Postdoctoral scholars are spread across campus and promote discovery in research and innovation. To support them in professional development and the working relationships at the university, the (PDAC) works closely with the Postdoctoral Office and other stakeholders to enhance their experience on campus.

鈥淥ur scholars are the best of the best,鈥 says Andrew Beaudin, president of PDAC. 鈥淲e want to ensure that they feel connected to the community and supported in the development of their academic careers.鈥
