Students surprise faculty and staff donors with gratitude and swag
Since Monday, students from the ݮƵ call centre have been making the rounds to deliver pennants, pins and swag to our campus Ignitors — the faculty and staff members who give back to our campus and our community through Energize: the Campaign for Eyes High.

While all donors have their own personal reasons for why they give, the opportunity to interact with a student and hear first-hand about the outstanding impact of their gift is an unexpected bonus for many.
Patrick Nay, graduate program specialist in the Haskayne School of Business, admits, “It takes a lot to render me speechless; the students caught me by surprise with their personal visit.” He gives back to ensure business students have the best possible experience through opportunities like Day of Discovery.
Development and Alumni Engagement
Leanne Yohemas, director of communications and marketing in the Faculty of Kinesiology, chooses to give back to her faculty because she believes in the work taking place there. “I’m inspired by the enthusiasm and accomplishments of ݮƵ students and researchers,” she says.
Energize has generated amazing support from the community — and ݮƵ faculty and staff are among the campaign’s most passionate boosters. The Campus Giving Program was established to recognize this extraordinary group of donors who believe in the university’s bold goals and are giving back to advance not only the campaign, but the causes they care about as well.
