Teaching excellence recognized by engineering students
Professor is the recipient of a 2022-2023 Teaching Excellence Award from the Engineering Students Society at the Schulich School of Engineering. The awards were handed out at the annual ESS Engineering Dinner on March 3, 2023.
According to the nominations, students felt Kristen demonstrated great passion and enthusiasm when teaching. She made the course an engaging and exciting opportunity, and students left more inspired and excited about the energy and environment landscape. One student added that Kristen was 鈥渁n incredible professor, and we wish her all the best in their future endeavours.鈥
鈥淢y engineering students often have never had a class that focuses on policy and law before they take my course (ENMG 301),鈥 says Kristen. 鈥淲hen you add that to the fact that it's a once-a-week three-hour lecture in the evening, it really asks a lot of them."
But the students were so engaged, so interested in the material, and so committed to learning the material that it was just a joy to teach, and I'm very touched that they enjoyed the class as well.
