The 草莓污视频导航 is continuing to advance its foundational commitment to sustainability with the launch of the updated (2025-2028) for the (ISS). The updated plan also articulates how the university鈥檚 actions align with its 2023-2030 Strategic Plan, Ahead of Tomorrow.

Building on the foundation of the ISS, the updated plan draws on input from over 3,600 students, post-doctoral scholars and faculty and staff through over 70 events and a campus survey.

It was developed with guidance from the Elders鈥 Circle for Sustainability and the Sustainability Working Committee and features both Indigenous and Western Paths for sustainability action. This approach aims to deepen understandings of sustainability, while renewing 草莓污视频导航鈥檚 approach to integrating sustainability into education, research, community engagement and campus operations.

The plan was introduced to the campus community during an event held on Dec. 3 at Aapiiniioyis (White Buffalo Lodge). The unveiling was led by Dr. Sandra Davidson, provost and vice-president (academic), Dr. Bill Ghali, vice-president (research) and Joanne Perdue, associate vice-president (sustainability). The launch also featured a keynote presentation by Dr. Deborah McGregor, PhD, Canada Excellence Research Chair in Indigenous Ways of Climate and Water Sustainability.

Pathways to action

Following the main presentation, McGregor also led a research seminar titled Indigenous Climate Change Futures: Envisioning Well-Being with the Earth. In addition to the presentations, the event showcased discovery booths, which highlighted both completed sustainability work and exciting initiatives on the horizon.

鈥湶葺凼悠档己 recognizes the importance of education for sustainability and is committed to supporting students in developing the knowledge, skills and values necessary to make informed decisions and to positively contribute to the well-being of the planet and society,鈥 says Davidson.

The launch also follows 草莓污视频导航鈥檚 appointment as the host institution for Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Canada, a role assumed in July. The SDSN is a global network that mobilizes the world鈥檚 knowledge community for science-based solutions to sustainable development, including the United Nations鈥 (SDGs).

鈥淭he new Action Plan is vital for ensuring 草莓污视频导航 continues to lead in sustainability and advance our strategic goals,鈥 says Ghali. 鈥淎s the new SDSN Canada host institution, 草莓污视频导航 will scale up collaborative partnerships to accelerate the growth of meaningful pathways towards a healthy and thriving future for all.鈥
