On Oct. 19, 2023, the ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ gathered in person once again to celebrate the inspiring leadership of our faculty, post and pre-doctoral laureates.

Killam Visiting Scholars

The Killam Visiting Scholar Award lets distinguished scholars make significant contributions to academic life at the ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ through research, teaching, and their own projects during an extended stay.

Hosted by the Centre for Military, Security and Strategic Studies

Dr. Lajeunesse is an Associate Professor in the St. Francis Xavier University Public Policy and Governance Program and former research chair in Maritime Security. As one of Canada’s leading experts on Arctic sovereignty and security, he has extensive experience consulting for governments and non-governmental organizations. While on campus, Dr. Lajeunesse will collaborate with faculty and students in the Centre for Military, Security and Strategic Studies and the centre’s newly established Canadian Network on Information and Security.

Hosted by the Community of Health Sciences (Cumming School of Medicine)

Dr. Valiani is an Associate Professor of History at the University of Oregon, who is renowned as a medical sociologist and historian of science. He collaborates across many allied health and social science disciplines on precision medicine strategies to address health inequities experienced by racialized peoples. While on campus, Dr. Valiani will be hosted by the Department of Community Health Sciences, where he will collaborate with faculty and students on precision health equity.
