Dr. Brent Hagel is an epidemiologist and associate professor with the Departments of Paediatrics and Community Health Sciences at the ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½. He holds the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation Professorship in Child Health and Wellness funded by an anonymous donor and the Canadian National Railway Company, the Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research Population Health Investigator and Canadian Institutes of Health Research New Investigator awards.ÌýDr. Hagel’s current research interests involve evaluation of the intended and unintended effects of protective equipment use and injury prevention policies (e.g., ski and snowboard helmet use, bike helmet legislation, body checking and minor hockey participation), with particular interest in child and adolescent sport and recreational injury prevention.

Dr. Hagel, together with Dr. Carolyn Emery, are recent recipients of theÌýÌý²¹·É²¹°ù»å.Ìý
