Elizabeth (Elle) is a MSc. student co-supervised by Dr. Jonathan Smirl and Dr. Carolyn Emery. She completed her BSc. (Honours) in Exercise and Health Physiology at the ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ in 2023, where her thesis focused on understanding psychological disorders in individuals with hypermobility. Her current master’s project is focused on methods for measuring disruptions to cerebrovascular physiology in concussion injuries with frequency-domain near-infrared spectroscopy. Elle has a passion for neurophysiology and exercise rehabilitation and loves her work outside the lab teaching a fitness class for individuals with chronic disabilities. When not researching, she volunteers with the non-profit organization Medical Herstory that works to eliminate sexism, shame, and stigma from health experiences through creative written, spoken, and visual works.
