Biography
Ben is an undergraduate student pursuing an Honours degree in Neuroscience. He firmly believes that the human experience is intrinsically connected to the brain and nervous system. This belief has fueled his fascination with delving deeper into the field of neuroscience and exploring how this knowledge can be translated into tangible differences. His academic journey has led him to engage in various research and community initiatives.
He has investigated the effects of stroke on saccadic eye movements through his work at the Stroke and Robotics lab as well as advised the development of youth mental health research programs via his work in the Mental Health 4 Kids advisory committee.
Within the community, he is passionately involved in supporting those who have no one to turn to via his work at the Calgary Distress Centre, volunteering as a line responder, leadership volunteer, presenter, and wellness committee member. Ben's commitment to the community also extends to organising informative events as Jr. Vice President Events in Tech Start ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½, raising awareness about the blood donation process through volunteering with Canadian Blood Services, and recently being elected as the Students' Union Representative for the Faculty of Science.
Looking ahead, Ben aspires to merge his passions for scientific research, social policy, and technology. He envisions a future role where he can integrate these domains to drive positive change.
