Student Equity Census
The data gained from this Census will support evidence-based decision-making by allowing the University to identify and address any inequities and patterns that may impede an individual’s success during their educational journey.
Responses will help us all understand institutional trends and where we identify gaps, and enact an action plan that enables us to do better.
Employee Census
Diversity fuels critical thinking.
It contributes to better teachers, researchers, learners and service providers. Diversity is critical to a research institution as it enables better teams and fuels ingenuity, creativity and innovation. Closing our employment gaps requires data to inform evidence-based decisions. Therefore, understanding our employee composition is urgently needed. Please help us be better. Responses to this Employee Equity Census provide valuable statistical information to guide future hiring and employment practices.

NextGen EDI Data Symposium
This international virtual Symposium is taking place in the context of an ongoing global pandemic that has aggravated pre-existing inequities and created new ones. The disproportionate impacts on already marginalized communities have renewed calls for disaggregated data – race, age, disability, gender, and sexual orientation – across all social sectors, including health, education, employment, and income.
It is also taking place in the context of local and global demands for measurable progress from initiatives designed to create more equitable and inclusive institutions, workplaces, and communities. These pursuits require disaggregated data, evidence-based policies and practices informed by measurement, quantitative and qualitative data, storytelling, monitoring, transparency, and accountability.
By developing policies and initiatives from a foundation of equity, diversity, and inclusion, we break down systems that rob many among us of opportunities that are rightfully theirs. By creating foundational guides, we are more equipped at working towards creating environments where every individual can thrive.

Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Policy
The Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Policy took effect on June 1, 2017. This standalone policy addresses sexual and gender-based violence that applies to all university community members- including students, faculty, and staff - and operates alongside applicable university policies and procedures.
