Giving Day 2024 across campus, part 2

Emergency student support
²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ offers emergency support for students in crisis, helping them get back on their feet and focus on what matters most — their education. °Õ³ó±ðÌý supports Faculty of Social Work students in crisis with immediate assistance and basic necessities. °Õ³ó±ðÌý similarly supports law students — and commemorates Dr. Ian Holloway’s 13-year tenure as dean of the Faculty of Law.
And ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ alumni have extra giving power when it comes to helping students in need. This year, all alumni-made gifts to the will be matched by the ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ Alumni Association Board, up to $2,500 per gift, while matching funds last.
Indigenous initiatives
°Õ³ó±ðÌý advances the recruitment and retention of Indigenous students within the Faculty of Arts — which has the largest Indigenous undergraduate student population — supporting culturally significant activities and intergenerational learning opportunities.Â
The Faculty of Science opens doors for aspiring science students, offering individualized academic and cultural support through prerequisite courses — and guaranteeing admission to their degree program upon completion.
The Werklund School of Education’s supports the faculty in creating an interactive web resource designed to assist educators with weaving Indigenous ways of knowing, being and doing into their teaching and learning.
Lifelong learning and community engagement
The Faculty of Continuing Education provides high-quality educational opportunities to people here and around the world, empowering them to change their lives and their communities — and the supports equitable and inclusive participation in lifelong learning.
The fuels a dynamic range of initiatives, crafting immersive learning experiences and elevating physical and digital spaces that inspire and connect. The fund also supports youth outreach programming, summer camps and internships.
