Qualtrics Account Management
Access to Qualtrics is open to all students, faculty and staff with an active ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ email address. Users are automatically assigned a Qualtrics account determined by their role as student, staff or faculty.
Upon logging into Qualtrics, you will be assigned a standard Qualtrics account with a number of default features and functionalities as follows:
Student Account
Allowed question types: unlimited
Allowed number of surveys: unlimited
Number of contact lists: unlimited
Allowed active surveys: 0
Allowed responses per survey: unlimited
Allowed questions per survey: unlimited
Allowed outgoing emails per week: 0
Collaboration outside organization: disabled
Staff Account

Allowed number of surveys: unlimited

Allowed active surveys: 5

About Student Default Accounts: All currently registered students are welcome to create an account on ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ Qualtrics. You will have full access to all question types, and the ability to create an unlimited number of surveys and contact lists. As per research ethics guidelines, however, students cannot publish (distribute) their surveys unless they are sponsored by a principal investigator, an instructor in an approved course-based research, or your research supervisor.
How can I find out which default account I was given? You can view your account permissions by clicking on the silhouette in the top-right corner of your account and select Account Settings from the dropdown, and then selecting Account Usage,
When accessing Qualtrics, you will login through the Central Authentication Service (CAS) at the ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½. The login process is identical to the one you are already using when accessing your mycalgary portal, or your D2L account. At the CAS prompt, simply enter your ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ username (or your personal @ucalgary.ca email) and password, and you will be automatically logged in to your new Qualtrics account.
Review the acceptable use policies for the Qualtrics service. Click "Accept and Login" located at the bottom of the next screen.
Should your project, research or program require additional features and functionalities not currently offered with your default Qualtrics account, you can request additional account permissions.such as changing your emailing permssions, access to the ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ template, or your time zone, see the account settings webpage. Please have on-hand the name and email address of the faculty, supervisor, manager, director or dean sponsoring your request. Account permissions will be granted upon sponsor confirmation.
The ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ Survey Tool makes it very easy to give other Qualtrics users access to your surveys. You can collaborate on editing your questionnaire, viewing and analyzing survey responses, and distributing your survey. Collaborate with any other ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ Qualtrics users, or any other external users. You can also limit what is shared with other users.
Collaboration with other Qualtrics users not enrolled at, or employed by, the ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ is a restricted feature. Please contact the brand administrator for further details.
For individuals not enrolled or employed with the ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ requiring an account to ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ Qualtrics must be granted "General Associate - Limited Access Relationship" status. This applies to guest post-docs, visiting scholars, consultant or contractors, and AHS researchers.
IMPORTANT: Before sharing your survey with other users, please consider the data being shared. Set collaboration permissions accordingly, and abide by the policy.
Access to the University Survey Tool (Qualtrics) is open to all currently registered students, faculty and staff detaining an @ucalgary.ca email address, and with login access to myUofC Portal.

It Didn't Work...
- Try accessing myucalgary portal using the same username and password. If you are still experiencing difficulties logging in, please contact the .
- If you have forgotten your ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ password, you can your password using your UCID number located under your name on your ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ ID Card (UNICARD).
