Summary of Changes
²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ Calendar 2009-2010 Faculty of Education 6. Applied Psychology 6.3 Post-Masters Certificate in Counselling
6.3 Post-Masters Certificate in Counselling

The 12-credit (4 half courses), Post-Master's Certificate in Counselling program allows individuals with a Master's degree in counselling, applied psychology, or equivalent to develop additional expertise in a particular area of specialization. Students select four courses from among those offered in the area of specialization selected to form their certificate program.

Areas of Specialization:

  • Master of Counselling: Counselling Psychology
  • Master of Counselling: School Counselling
  • Master of Counselling: Career Counselling

With special permission, students may also opt to include a core course from the Master of Counselling program to make up deficits in their previous training experiences or enhance their work in a particular area.

Program Design

The program has been designed to be completed in 1 year. This completion rate is considered full-time study at four courses per year. However, you may choose to complete the program more quickly or to extend it over a longer period of time (up to 2 years). Be prepared to plan ahead to ensure course availability and be sure to have any changes to the normal program plan approved by your academic advisor. Students in Post-Master's Certificate program start in the Fall Term of each year.

Admission Program Application is December 15 of each year. Please see the Division of Applied Psychology website for more information: .
