4.8.3 BFA in Visual Studies with a Developmental Art Concentration

The designation "Developmental Art Concentration" will appear on the transcripts and parchment of Majors who have completed the following courses in fulfillment of their BFA (Visual Studies) degree:

A. FACULTY OF ARTS REQUIREMENTS

Students must adhere to the applicable Faculty of Arts requirements in 3.4 Graduation.

B. MAJOR-FIELD REQUIREMENTS AND NORMAL SEQUENCE

The BFA in Visual Arts with a Developmental Art Concentration requires the successful completion of the following program of study, which includes 14 to 15.5 full-course equivalents in the Field of Art:

First Year

Second Year

  • Art 205 and two of the following: Art 305, 307Ìý²¹²Ô»å 393.
  • An additional 1.0 full-course equivalents in Art at the 300 or 400 level.
  • 1.0 full-course equivalents in Art History at the 300 or 400 level.
  • 1.0 full-course equivalents in non-Art options.
  • 0.5 full-course equivalents in courses in open options.

Third Year

  • Art 399, 491 and Art 591.
  • An additional 1.0 full-course equivalents in Art at the 300 level or above.
  • 1.0 full-course equivalents in Art History at the 300 level or above.
  • 0.5 full-course equivalents in the fine arts from: (a) courses in the Fields of Dance, Drama, and/or Music; and/or (b) courses labeled Fine Arts.
  • 1.0 full-course equivalents in non-Art options at the 300 level or above.
  • Art 103

Fourth Year

  • Art 509 and Art 515.
  • Art 499 or Canadian Studies 433.
  • An additional 1.0 full-course equivalents in Art at the 300 level or above.
  • 1.0 full-course equivalents in Art History at the 300 level or above.
  • 1.0 full-course equivalents in open options at the 300 level or above.
  • 0.5 full-course equivalents in open options.
