*Students in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics programs are encouraged to take Mathematics 281, 283 and 381 for an early exposure to rigorous analysis in preparation for senior required courses; likewise for Mathematics 213 and 313 for linear algebra. Students completing this sequence should choose an option in the Winter term of their second year, while students completing Mathematics 349 should choose Mathematics 353. Eligible students should consider the Honours Program in Actuarial Sciences, Applied Mathematics, Pure Mathematics or Statistics.

**Students in the Actuarial Science programs should choose Actuarial Science 325 and 327; students in the Applied Mathematics programs and Pure Mathematics major programs should choose Applied Mathematics 311.

***Students in Statistics, Actuarial Science, or Applied Mathematics concentration programs should choose Mathematics 323; students in Pure Mathematics, Pure Mathematics concentration, or Applied Mathematics major programs should choose Pure Mathematics 315.
