The 草莓污视频导航 offers bursaries to students enrolled in the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program in the Faculty of Medicine.
Students wishing to apply for the competitive Medical Elective Awards submit a separate application; Refer to the 鈥淢edical Elective Awards鈥 section in this Calendar for details.
- Eligibility: Open to students entering or continuing in the Doctor of Medicine program at the 草莓污视频导航.
Students in year two or three of the Doctor of Medicine program must satisfy the previous year鈥檚 requirements to be eligible for these awards.
Students entering year one of the Bachelor of Health Sciences program (admitted on the basis of their high school grades) are not eligible for these awards and should apply for High School Awards; refer to the 鈥淗igh School Awards鈥 section of this Calendar for details.
Students continuing in the Bachelor of Health Sciences program are not eligible for these awards and should apply for Undergraduate Awards for Continuing Students; refer to the 鈥淯ndergraduate Awards for Continuing Students鈥 section of this Calendar for details.

Competitive awards: Students must submit the Faculty of Medicine Awards application available in early May in the on-line Student Centre through the MY U OF C portal ().
DEADLINE: August 10, 2011.
Students who complete the Medicine Awards application are also considered for Differential Tuition bursaries, provided the applicant submits proof of their outstanding government student loan debt to date. To be eligible for a Differential Tuition bursary, a student must be paying the differential tuition fee to the Faculty of Medicine for the academic year in which the differential bursary is awarded.
Nominated awards: No application required. Recipients are nominated by the faculty.
- Notification: Recipients are notified by email for nominated awards in July; for competitive awards and Differential Tuition bursaries at the end of August.
- Registration Requirement(s): Recipients must maintain full-time enrollment in the Doctor of Medicine program.
- Payment: Award funds are split into two equal payments over Fall and Winter Terms and are automatically applied to outstanding tuition and fees. Excess award funds are processed by the end of October (Fall Term) and by the end of February (Winter Term) and are refunded into the student鈥檚 bank account by direct deposit. Award recipients must provide their banking information to the university through the online Student Centre.
Award values stated as 鈥榯uition and fees鈥 do not include differential tuition fees.
Due to the 草莓污视频导航鈥檚 policy of equitable award distribution, a medical student may normally receive one major award in Medicine in a given year.
