Leader in Health Sciences Scholarships

Award Value: $15,000 (Renewable)

  • Offered annually to high school students entering first year in the Bachelor of Health Sciences program, Cumming School of Medicine at the ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½. Renewable in the second, third and fourth year of the Bachelor of Health Sciences program, provided recipients maintain a normal full course load (of 30.00 units or more) and achieve a minimum GPA of 3.40 in the previous fall and winter academic terms. In addition to the value of the award, recipients are guaranteed admission to the MD program upon completion of the BHSc program, subject to the conditions set forth by the Faculty of Medicine
  • Academic merit with potential to succeed as a medical scientist (MD-PhD)
  • Exceptional evidence of the non-cognitive attributes sought by the Cumming School of Medicine amongst matriculants to the MD program
  • It is the University's expectation that recipients will continue their involvement in activities outside the classroom that are part of the BHSc academic program: therefore, recipients must submit annually to the Cumming School of Medicine for review and approval, a copy of their Co-Curricular Record and/or statement outlining their leadership and campus/community involvement during the most recent academic year
  • Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents
