R.1 Admission

Refer to A.11 English Language Proficiency in the Admission section of this Calendar for information regarding ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ English Language Proficiency requirements.

Refer to A.11.1 International Foundations Program in the Admission section of this Calendar for information regarding IFP English Language Proficiency requirements.

A. IFP Pathways

A student who meets all the admission requirements for their faculty (see A.5 Undergraduate Admission Requirements in the Admissions section of this Calendar for more information) and the minimum English language proficiency scores outlined in Section A.11.1 (International Foundations Program) may be admitted to the first year of an undergraduate academic program concurrent with English language and support courses.

B. IFP Bridging

A student who meets all the admission requirements for their faculty (see A.5 Undergraduate Admission Requirements in the Admission section of this Calendar for more information) and the minimum English language proficiency scores outlined in section A.11.1 (International Foundation Program) may be admitted to an undergraduate academic program with the requirement that the student first successfully completes IFP Bridging Tier 3 courses. Students will be limited to the number of degree courses they can take in first year.

A Bridging student who fails to complete Tier 3 within 12 months will have admission to their academic program rescinded. These students may reapply and meet criteria for admission to an academic program in a future term.

C. IFP Preparation

Students who wish to complete their English Language Proficiency requirements prior to starting their academic program or are below the minimum English Language Proficiency requirements outlined in section A.11.1 may register in the IFP Preparation stream. Students must complete the Open Studies Application for Admission by the appropriate deadline (see section A.3 Deadline Dates for Undergraduate Applications for Admission and Transcripts) in addition to submitting all required documentation in support of their application.

The ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ will accept IFP Preparation applications for Fall (September), Winter (January), and the combined Spring/Summer Intersession.

Note: Completion of the IFP Preparation program does not guarantee admission to an academic program.
