Help Phones
When to Use a Help Phone
Help Phones are located around campus in most buildings, parking lots, elevators, and a number of classrooms. Use a help phone:
- when you need assistance from Campus Security
- to request a Safewalk escort (Help Phones are not only for emergencies)
- if you feel uncomfortable on campus for any reason
- if you witness a crime
- if you see a suspicious individual or vehicle
- if there is a medical emergency.
How to Use a Parking Lot, Elevator, or Building Help Phone
Push the button on the help phone to be connected to the Security Operations Centre and speak to a dispatcher. Once the button is pressed the dispatcher can determine your exact location.
