When do I apply to graduate?
Near the end of your program, you must complete an Application to Graduate to start the graduation process. The Application to Graduate will be open for students completing their requirements by the end of the summer term.

Conferral periods
Conferral refers to the exact date you are awarded a designation from ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½. There are three conferrals per year. Your conferral date will determine which convocation ceremony you can attend. It will display on your transcript, and the month and year will show on your parchment.Ìý

* There is no convocation ceremony connected with the winter conferral. As an eligible student, you are invited to attend the spring ceremony, or you can request to have your degree mailed.Ìý

Your graduation checklist
As you near the finish of your degree, the following steps will ensure you've completed everything required for you to graduate and convocate.
Verify your program
Connect with yourÌýfaculty advisorÌýto ensure that your program information (including your major, minor, area of study, specialization, etc.) is correct in your Student Centre. If your information is not correct, you must meet with an advisor—this update cannot be made through your Student Centre.
Also verify with your advisor:
- Degree requirements completed
- Your eligibility to graduate
Apply to graduate
Once you have verified your program information, complete your online application to graduate in yourÌýStudent Centre. Choose "Apply for Graduation" and fill in the webform.
Submit your attendance notification for convocation
Complete your attendance notification to indicate if you will attend convocation, have your parchment mailed to you, or pick up your parchment at ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½.
Check faculty approval
Your faculty will review your application to graduate approximately three weeks prior to the conferral date. You can view the status of your application under "Convocation Status."
Clear any outstanding fees
If you have outstanding fees owing to the university, you're allowed to graduate and attend your convocation ceremony. However, until the account is cleared, you won't be able to receive your degree(s), transcripts, other official degree documentation or be eligible to register in courses.
