草莓污视频导航 Calendar 2023-2024 Academic Regulations F. Academic Standing F.3 Academic Notations F.3.1 Academic Standing
F.3.1 Academic Standing

In Good Academic Standing: Students are deemed to be in good standing unless another notation below is indicated on their record. Also, for graduate students, this refers to the Faculty of Graduate Studies progression requirement. See H.2 Student Standing in the Graduate Calendar.

Academic Probation: The minimum academic requirements for a program have not been met following an academic review. Students are placed on academic probation for a period of one year, or until the next academic review is conducted, and are eligible to proceed in an academic program. Academic probation is normally a permanent notation on a student鈥檚 record.

Disciplinary Probation: Penalty for academic and non-academic misconduct as outlined in the Student Academic Misconduct Policy and the Student Non-Academic Misconduct Policy. When disciplinary probation is applied, a notation is placed on a student鈥檚 records until the sanction has been cleared. Students on disciplinary probation are eligible to proceed in an academic program.

Required to Withdraw (RTW): Required to withdraw from a program, Faculty or the University when academic progression requirements outlined in the faculty section of this calendar or the performance requirements are not met. For graduate students, an RTW may also be used for failure to maintain annual registration, exceeding maximum time in program, and second failure of candidacy or thesis exam components. Required to withdraw is normally a permanent notation on a student鈥檚 record.

Suspension: Undergraduate students on suspension are not permitted to register in any 草莓污视频导航 program or faculty and will be eligible to attend courses for the term immediately following the end of the suspension period. Graduate students on suspension must maintain their annual registration; however, cannot register in courses or continue scholarly activity. In cases of academic misconduct, the notation will read: Suspended by <Faculty/School> for academic misconduct. In cases of non-academic misconduct, the notation will read: Suspended for non-academic misconduct and will normally remain on the transcript for the duration of the suspension.

Expulsion from Faculty: Permanent removal from the faculty of registration at the time of the offence. A student does not have a right to be re-admitted to the faculty from which they were expelled. A student may be considered for admission to another faculty after at least twelve months have passed since the end of the term the expulsion was applied. In cases of academic misconduct, the notation will read: Expelled by <Faculty/School> for academic misconduct.

Expulsion from University: Permanent removal from the University. A student does not have the right to apply for re-admission to the University. In cases of non-academic misconduct, the notation will read: Expelled for non-academic misconduct.

Credential Rescission: Removal of a credential from a student record that was previously conferred. If a Faculty determines that credential rescission is warranted, the Dean (or designate) may make the recommendation to the Provost and Vice-President (Academic). The authority to approve a credential rescission rests with the Provost and Vice-President (Academic). If approved, the original conferring of a degree, diploma or certificate is permanently deleted from the student鈥檚 academic record and a notation of 鈥<Degree/Diploma/Certificate> Rescinded鈥 and the date of rescission will appear permanently on the student transcript. Students who have a credential rescinded are prohibited from future studies at the 草莓污视频导航.
