Q.1.1 Types of Awards and Requirements

Scholarship: A financial award offered in recognition of academic standing. To be considered for a scholarship, a student must normally present a minimum GPA of 3.20. Additional criteria may apply.

Award: A financial award offered in recognition of academic standing and involvement in other activities. To be considered for an award, a student must present a minimum GPA of 2.60. Award criteria includes additional criteria such as, but not limited to, community service, volunteerism, excellence in athletics and/or financial need.

Bursary: A financial award offered on the basis of clearly demonstrated financial need and satisfactory academic achievement. To be considered for a bursary, a student must present a minimum GPA of 2.00 and complete the financial information section of the awards application.

Competitive Award: Requires the submission of an online awards application. Academic standing and other criteria such as financial need, field of study, extra-curricular activities and contribution to community and/or campus life may be considered.

Nominated Award: No awards application is required. The faculty or department recommends recipients to Undergraduate Awards.
