4.1.1 First and Second Year Course Selection

The recommended first and second year course sequences for all programs offered by the Department of Biological Sciences are similar, but not identical. Thus, students should consult the Suggested Program Sequence charts below for the specific program they intend to pursue. Most students will initially enter the BSc in Biological Sciences but may apply for a change of program to a specialized program (Biochemistry; Cellular, Molecular and Microbial Biology; Ecology; Plant Biology; or Zoology) after they have successfully completed a minimum of 30 units, Students may begin planning their coursework for their specialized program from first year.
