Open Studies students are eligible for all undergraduate programs through the competitive admission process (A.5.3).

Open Studies students in the Undergraduate Entrance program are eligible to be considered for a degree program through the Undergraduate Admission Guarantee. Under this process, students are guaranteed admission to select Arts or Science programs when they meet the following criteria:

  • completion of minimum 18 units in Open Studies at the ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ by end of winter for fall admission;
  • minimum 2.30 admission GPA for admission to Arts programs and minimum 2.50 GPA for admission to Science programs;
  • successful completion of English Language Arts 30-1 (or equivalent) and required high school courses outlined in A.15.4.

Undergraduate Admission Guarantee GPA: will be calculated on the most recent 18 units of ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ Open Studies coursework. All courses attempted within a term will be included except where the number of courses taken within a term results in the overall number of units exceeding 18. Should this occur, the highest grades from the oldest term being considered will be used to calculate the GPA. Grades for high school courses will not be used to calculate the GPA.
