Some awards allow for minimum completion of 18.00 units. Students who are registered with Student Accessibility Services to receive accommodations in their program qualify for awards after completing at least 18 units in the most recent fall and winter terms.
  • The cumulative grade point average (GPA) used for awards purposes is based on all courses you most recently completed in the fall and winter terms as a full-time student. Scholarships require a minimum GPA of 3.20. For bursaries, the minimum GPA required is 2.00.
  • Competitive awards require you to complete the on-line awards application; selection is based on academic merit however other criteria such as financial need (for bursaries), and/or extracurricular activities, leadership, volunteerism, etc. may be required depending on the award terms of reference.
  • Nominated awards are based primarily on academic merit and most often are designated to a specific faculty or program.  An awards application is not required and candidates are recommended by the faculty or department.
  • Students entering an after-degree program in the fall term are not eligible for awards for Continuing Students however after completing the first year of your after-degree program, you qualify for these awards.
  • Supplemental exams, deferred exams, special deferred exams or term work and CS grades may affect your eligibility for awards.
