I've been admitted! What's Next?

We are so excited for you to join our ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ community! Now that you've accepted your offer of admission and , you can use the checklist below to keep track of everything you need to do to become a Dino!


✔ Step 1

✔  Explore classrooms, residences, athletic facilities, and more through a newly admitted student tour

✔  Don't forget to apply for residence early, because living on campus puts you as close as it gets to everything you need.

✔  As a student at ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½, there are a variety of IT services available to you. Make sure you and ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ email.

✔  Familiarize yourself with student services, extra-curricular activities, and campus policies by checking out our First Year Resource Guide.

 


✔ Step 2

✔  Find out what courses you need to take by exploring our degree guides, and try using the academic requirement planning tool.

✔  Review key registration dates, watch past registration webinars, and attend orientation sessions.

✔  To access the best course selection, begin registering at your enrolment start time

✔  Get to know the friendly faces at New Student Registration Assistance, and connect with your Faculty Advisor to start degree planning.

✔  If you are transferring from another university, review your transfer credit report.

✔  If you're an international student, reach out to International Student Services for help with your study permit, work permit, visa and other immigration questions.


✔ Step 3

✔  Apply for government student assistance in June by submitting one application through your province to be assessed for federal and provincial loans and grants.

✔  Remember you can't win a scholarship or bursary if you don't apply, so be sure to review which ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓƵµ¼º½ Awards you're eligible for, and prepare applications early. 

✔  Watch our University 101s with Professor Rex to learn more about using your student centre portal, financing your education, and more.

✔  It can take time to organize academic accommodations. Students requiring disability-related services are encouraged to begin the registration process with Student Accessibility Services early.


✔ Step 4

✔  Your Unicard is your official campus identification and all-access pass for libraries, and active living facilities. Avoid the line by submitting your photo to Campus Service Centre online.

✔  Ancillary Services offer a wide variety of parking options. Be sure to purchase your parking permit early, to ensure you can secure a parking option that works best for you.

✔  Join us in fostering a safe and healthy living and learning environment by downloading the UCSafety app.


✔ Step 5

✔  ​​​Finalize your financial plan by exploring payment plansthird party sponsorships, and cashing in your Registered Education Saving Plan (RESP) in early August.

✔  Get ready for classes by attending events and orientation, purchasing your textbooks, course-specific equipment, and swag at the .

✔  Learn how to pay your fees online and make sure you account for processing time.


✔ Step 6

✔  Students are responsible for meeting deadlines listed in the , so be sure to keep an eye on upcoming academic, registration, and tuition dates, and mark your calendar with term breaks and university closures.
