3.5 FCE - Breadth requirement: Non-science options (see Notes)

1.0 FCE - Options (Science options are recommended -- see Notes)

Note: The Major program may contain a maximum of 10 FCE from the field of Geology, and the Honours program may contain a maximum of 12 FCE from the field of Geology.

Note: The Major and Honours programs must contain at least 2 FCE at the 500 level or above from the field of Geology.

Note: 600-level courses are available to fourth year students with prerequisites and consent of the Department.

Note: In order to meet the academic requirements for registration with APEGGA, the 1.0 FCE of Science options must be chosen from biology, chemistry (0.5 FCE maximum), computer science, physics (0.5 FCE maximum), or statistics.

Note: These 3.5 FCE and Science 311 form the 4.0 FCE non-science course requirements selected from the Faculties of Communication and Culture, Humanities, Fine Arts, Social Sciences and the Haskayne School of Business (see Table I, 3.4. Program Requirements for courses that may not be used to satisfy this requirement). Of these 4.0 FCE, students must take at least 1.0 FCE in each of at least two of the aforementioned Faculties (see (d) Breadth requirement in 3.4 Program Requirements.

Required Courses - Honours Program

Same as the Major degree program in Geology except that the Honours program must include:
